History

Studying history gives children an understanding of different cultures and the events that have shaped the world today.

It is broken down into sections of study such as the pre-historic world, ancient history, medieval times, WW1 and WW2 and the history of other countries.

As children continue their eduction into secondary school they look at history with a more critical eye and analyse events more closely, giving them an insight into what caused certain events to transpire. The saying that those that do not understand history are destined to repeat it is more of the theme in the higher years.

However in the younger years, children's imaginations are fed with ideas of what it would have been like to live 100 or 200 years ago.

Children love dinosaurs - until they're asleep at night and dream about being eaten by one! It can be a lot of fun looking at the strange enormous creatures that once roamed the Earth - as long as they're all dead and can't come back anymore.

I'm a great believer in history and a great believer in finding free, relevant, easy to read information when you need it. So I've written a concise child-reader friendly brief history of Australia to help with all those last minute assignments. It's got the bare facts, with further references if I missed something, but in my experience from helping my own children, I think I've covered everything. Please feel free to download it. Hope it helps. Any comments or additional information needed but not found, please let me know. Download Australian History here: Australian History E-Project Book

While studying history it also helps to learn a little about the culture of the country as well. Here is another E Project Book on Australian Culture including national anthem, its origins and words, australian currency - who are those people on that money? National emblems, animals, capital cities, and land facts. Hope you find it helpful. Download it here for free: Australian Culture E-Project Book
